WHAT IS THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION STATEMENT ?
The Bob Mizer Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational archive committed to promoting and preserving the works of progressive and controversial photographers.
RESEARCH
DOES THE FOUNDATION MAKE ITS ARCHIVES OPEN TO OUTSIDE SCHOLARS FOR RESEARCH ?
The Foundation does have research facilities available to qualified candidates. Only processed objects in the archive are available. You must present a written proposal for review and approval by the Foundation. You may send your proposal to us, by using the online registration form found on our Research Requests page.
DONATING AND SELLING ARTWORK
DOES THE FOUNDATION ACCEPT GIFTS OF BOB MIZER OR ATHLETIC MODEL GUILD ARTWORKS OR MEMORABILIA ?
Yes. Most of these items [such as letters, vintage AMG mailings, and photos] will be cataloged and archived and remain with the Foundation always. We also accept donations of vintage physique and adult magazines. Please contact the Foundation with the contact form.
CAN YOU TELL ME HOW MUCH MY BOB MIZER PHOTOGRAPH IS WORTH ?
The Bob Mizer Foundation does not appraise Bob Mizer's artwork. If you would like a professional appraisal, contact the appraisal department of Christie's (212-546-1000); Sotheby's (212-606-7000); or Phillips de Pury (212-940-1215) auction houses.
HOW DO I GET A MIZER WORK AUTHENTICATED ?
Authentication of Bob Mizer's work is available at the Foundation. You must be willing to leave the work at the Foundation for approximately two weeks. The fee for authentication of the work is $100. Please contact us through the contact form at the bottom of this page for further instructions and the email address. You may attach a jpeg of the work you would like authenticated to start the process.
DOES THE BOB MIZER FOUNDATION PURCHASE ARTWORK BY MIZER OR OTHER ARTISTS?
Generally, we seek out donations of works. But we have been known to make new acquisitions to the collection. Please contact us if you feel you have something that should be part of the Bob Mizer Foundation's holdings.
CURATORIAL
CAN THE GENERAL PUBLIC VIEW ARTWORKS BY BOB MIZER THAT THE FOUNDATION CURRENTLY OWNS ?
Yes [soon]. The Foundation will be opening a public exhibition space in the near future. For now, many of Mizer's works can be seen at museums and galleries throughout the United States and abroad. Also see our Exhibitions pagefor a list of current and upcoming Bob Mizer shows.
DOES THE MIZER FOUNDATION LOAN MIZER WORKS TO MUSEUMS FOR EXHIBITIONS ?
Yes. Please contact the Foundation through the contact page on this page for more information.
I KNOW A VERY TALENTED ARTIST AND I THINK YOU SHOULD CONSIDER SHOWING THEIR WORK.
We may exhibit an artist's work either in our exhibition space or in Physique Pictorial. Due to the large amount of photographer submissions that we receive, we ask that any material be sent to us via FedEx in a professional portfolio format, OR hi-resolution digital images via a DropBox link.
Our curatorial staff will look at all submissions in timely manner and will be in touch either way if we are interested in learning more about the artist and his/her work If submitting physical works, please make sure to provide a contact email, telephone number, and a link to the artist's website, and address all mailings to:

HOW CAN I VIEW A COPY OF ONE OF MIZER'S FILMS ?
We offer remastered films by Bob Mizer to Foundation members at our online Film Archive. There are also many compilations of film and video works of a more adult nature available on our DVD collections. There are also many more that are not available for sale at this time, but can be viewed at the Foundation's regularly scheduled public screenings. They are also available to individuals for research purposes at the museum by appointment. Requests for licensing will be considered.

HOW CAN I GET PERMISSION TO REPRODUCE PHOTOGRAPHS BY BOB MIZER AS ILLUSTRATIONS IN A BOOK, ARTICLE OR PAPER THAT I'M WRITING ?
The Bob Mizer Foundation owns the copyright to Bob Mizer's artworks, regardless of who owns specific physical works of art. Anyone wishing to reproduce Mizer's work in print or on a website should contact Dennis Bell, Foundation President, for licensing policies and fees. Permission is also required to exhibit any works of Mizer in a public space and to use our trademarked names such as Athletic Model Guild, AMG, and Bob Mizer.

PROGRAMMING
I'D LIKE TO SHOW MIZER'S FILMS IN A FILM FESTIVAL. CAN I DO THIS ?
As the keeper of all of Mizer's works and films, the Bob Mizer Foundation does license works for appropriate film festivals. Please contact us about this and explain fully what you envision and which venue you are planning to show the films. Please make sure to provide a contact email, telephone number, and a link to the venue's Web site.
